Louise and Rodney are proud grandparents:

Would you believe we landed in Atlanta at 8:40 Thursday morning from St. Louis.  By the time we picked up our bags, stopped and had breakfast, we arrived home at about 10:45, Nicole called me about 11:00 and said she didn't feel very well.  I told her to call her doctor, which she did.  The nurse called back and said he wanted to check her.

Well at 4:00 pm, Jay called to say they were going to do a c-section within the next 2 hours!!!!.  She had started to dilate and he certainly didn't want her in labor.  Rodney and I took off about a 30-minute drive to the hospital and, of course, got behind slow traffic.  When we arrived at the hospital, she had already been taken in.  At 5:15 on 8-28-08, Aslyn Miller Burkett, was weighing 5 lb 3 oz.  Next Bree McMillan Burkett came into the world at 5 lb 7 oz, both at 19 inches long.  Both babies are basically healthy, however they are in the prenatal ICU on oxygen and a little support.  It seems Aslyn needs the most help, but doctors are confident that each will be fine.  Nicole is certainly uncomfortable, but is on a pain drip.

I don't want to be greedy as you have prayed so much for her, but just remember the babies now so they will be able to come home in a few days.

Talk with you soon, Louise
